2023 Domaine Hubert Lamy Bourgogne Blanc Les Chataigners
Hubert Lamy
Lamy farms four small parcels on the white limestone soils of Les Chataigners. Tucked up at the far end of the village, this sheltered site is Lamy’s highest and coolest vineyard, with vines planted in 1990 and 2008. The fruit was whole-bunch pressed and naturally fermented before being raised in older barrels. Perennially this one of the Côte’s most impressive Bourgogne-level whites.
Drawn from four southeast-facing parcels totaling 1.1 hectares on the western side of Saint-Aubin, the 2023 Bourgogne Les Chataigners opens with aromas of pear, dried white flowers and smoky reduction. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, ample and expressive, animated by vibrant acidity. It incorporates the juice from the final press fractions of Lamy’s other cuvées.
