2022 Corymbia Chenin Blanc

Corymbia

Swan Valley, Western Australia

There’s not too many Chenin Blancs what I like, though I do like Corymbia. I believe Gen Mann makes the wine, and Rob Mann just hangs about looking regal. I feel an affinity towards that kind of relationship…

Lime, pear, some white flowers, ginger, cinnamon, and Parmesan rind, a little struck match. It has crunch and energy, pear skin and apple, a saline edge, fine chalky/dusty texture, cinnamon bark, a slight lemon rind and quinine bitterness, fresh crunch of green pear and grapefruit, and a perky kind of sappy and preserved lemon finish of good length and freshness. For a warm to hot climate wine, it certainly has some mojo, not least an individual personality. Saline and samphire thing happening too. It’s very good. Rated : 94 Points Gary Walsh, The Winefront
