Michael Hall

Hand-picked from four vineyards in Stone Well, Greenock and Krondorf, 6% whole-bunch barrel fermented, the remainder destemmed to open fermenter. Pressed to French oak (31% new), 20 months maturation in barrel. Fined and filtered. - Michael Hall

Hand picked, 6% whole bunches, barrel fermented and pressed to French oak (31% new); 20 months’ maturation in barrel. A low-yielding vintage but there is plenty of concentration on display here with rich dark plum, black cherry and boysenberry fruits, oodles of spice along with hints of charcuterie, pressed purple flowers, licorice, dark chocolate and earth. Compact, kinetic tannins, a lovely savoury composition and a meaty edge to the finish. It's terrific drinking. - 93 Points, Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion

Deep red with a rim of purple and there's a very attractive mix of red and darker fruits with black pepper and graphite to sniff. The wine is rich and well concentrated but also quite elegant, the ample tannins fine-grained and harmonious. Very smart wine, approachable already and has what it takes to age well too. Long carry. Satisfying. - 92 Points, Huon Hooke, The Real Review
